Oh, MoMA.

The MoMA store is the best for a good gift (and giggle!).

Snatch up these Hug Salt and Pepper Shakers for your BFF. She (or he) will certainly be touched!

And um… PS - If you’re planning a wedding, don’t miss their GIFT REGISTRY, woo!

Starbucks Logo Refresh

About two weeks ago Starbucks introduced its new logo. Some people hate it, some love it. I just like it :) It’s always nice for a brand to be recognized by a mark only. The text free logo speaks to Starbucks’ status as a household name.

You can read more about the update here.

what's making me happy today

So, I like hot chocolate made with milk, not water. My office break room only has these paper cups. Aside from the obvious environmental issue of disposable cups, I can’t seem to microwave one of these cups without it burning up. We are talking charred black and smelly smoke. Not exactly the soothing flavor I’m going for in my no-sugar-added cocoa treat.

This morning, I marched myself to starbucks for a real mug. And a real mug I found. A real really cute mug to boot! And here she is… extra large and red with white pencil lined hearts. Sigh (and smile).

For $8.95 (+ tax) you can have one too!

What I got for Christmas

With so much hype about what I asked for this Christmas, I thought it would be fun to show you the actual goods. And man oh man, are they good!

Love this sweet little White Owl Lamp from West Elm. He lives in my bedroom and he’s just so darn friendly!

image

And since dear designer husband knows I’m a sucker for a theme, he slipped these Hoot Owl Bandages in my stocking!

image

Then there was the … hold your breath … Eames Rocking Chair!*

I’ve wanted one of these pretty much since my history of design college days. One of the most indulgent features is the choice to choose your color. Mine is white and I’m in love :)

image

*Note: I’m linking to Herman Miller because they have the best images, but not exactly the best prices. If you’re in the market for one of these beauties, I would recommend a google shopping search or your local craigslist.

I also got this teeny acorn charm necklace!

image

My dear friend who reads this blog sent me the ampersand earrings from this post, thank you Nat!

image

And one more really good goodie to top it all off. My mother-in-law got us this amazing black and white chevron rug I’ve been drooling over for months. She is so thoughtful!

I’m such a totally lucky and over indulged girl. Well, at least I know it… right? What did you get? Anything I have to have??
